As I settled into my daily morning practice and felt into what my body needs to feel more alive, safe, secure, loved, connected, in the perfection that is my body, this is what came through…
Love and Embrace Your Body
Feeling deeper into what this means for me, I am reminded of my life-long inner conflict with my body.
For as long as I can remember, I have been at odds with how I look and feel in my skin. Rejecting the size of my thighs, my curvy hips, my smaller breasts and the list goes on. I explored every diet imaginable and even considered extreme surgical measures but fortunately I never followed through.
I never really felt at home in my body.
Our Body is Our Home
As I felt into today’s practice, I know without a shadow of a doubt, we all need to feel at home in our bodies in order to feel more alive, safe, secure, loved, and connected in the perfection that is our body.
Our body is our temple. It houses our Soul and gives us the ability to navigate this physical world.
When we love and embrace our body, we are able to access a deeper level of healing that translates into more love and compassion for Self and others.
We begin to see things in our Self differently, as well as the rest of the world.
We begin to soften to life with more love, understanding and acceptance.
Our Body Feels
Many years ago I was out shopping alone, something I rarely enjoy. As I was trying on clothes and looking in the mirror, the critical voices started creeping in. You know the ones that judge the way you look and how, if you were just 5 or 10 pounds lighter, this would feel so much better.
Later that night and into the next day I began feeling super emotional for what I thought was no logical reason. Nothing happened to me that would give me cause to be emotional. So I called my Reiki healer at the time and asked if she could see me. During our session she tuned in and asked me what I had done to hurt my body the previous day. Initially I said, “Nothing”.
She asked, “Did you judge or criticize your body?”
Yep, there it is! The critical and judgmental thoughts that were going through my mind manifested as emotional pain. She helped me to process and release the emotions from my body and I am forever grateful to have made the connection.
Thoughts Have Power
The thoughts we have in our mind have a direct impact on all aspects of our life, including our body. These thoughts are stored in the subconscious mind and if they are negative, they can manifest as pain, stress, anxiety and number of other ailments.
Having regular practices where you can tune in and ask your body what is needed, allows you to connect with these underlying energies for deeper healing to unfold. Intuitive energy healing is another way to access and release these trapped energies (emotions).
I invite you to explore a daily practice where you simply take a few moments to feel into your body, asking what she/he/they needs, tune in and listen for your answer.
Everything needed to support you can be found within you.
And So It Is, Blessed Be
Below is the message I received that inspired this post:
Love and embrace my body
Feeling deeper into her presence and love
Focus love into all aspects of my being
Love and acceptance of her beauty and strength
Love and honoring
Love and respect
Shower her in love for she is love
You are Love
You are One with Love
And So It Is, Blessed Be
